Welcome to the Team 8A's - "Team Commitment"
Social Studies Website
Hello Parents/Guardians,
This year students will learn and master the concepts of exploring the geography, history, economics, and government/civics of our great state. Students will also be studying basic personal finance concpets such as saving and spending. Students will also have projects to complete as well as literacy writing assignments.
Please review the "Syllabus" (tab above); it will give you a good idea of what to expect this school year and will also outline my expectations, policies and procedures, and more. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me via the information below.
Please make sure that your child is reviewing his/her notes nightly. Homework is given Monday through Thursday and occasionally on Fridays. Homework given is due on the following day, unless otherwise stated. Your child is strongly encouraged to complete his/her homework in order to be successful in this class. It is very important for your child to review the notes, examples, and complete homework; this will allow your child, as well as myself, to know what has been mastered and not mastered. Technology is a critical factor in learning with this generation, so I will also utilize an interactive website for posting assignments, quizzes, polls, etc. that your child must also participate in and use. If for any reason, you cannot access the internet to access the interactive websites, I will provide any additional assistance necessary to ensure your child is able to access the assignments, etc.
I look forward to working with you this academic school year.
